Chamberlain has been in the milling business since 1985, long before other contractors came around. We use milling machines on most large projects and continually find ways to use milling technology to save time and money for our customers.

At Chamberlain we have a state of the art milling department with two types of machines that can make our jobs go much smoother and faster.

Our Wirtgen 40” and 48” cut milling machines are designed to mill the perimeter of a parking lot that is to be repaved with a new asphalt overlay. The angled cut allows the new pavement to tie in flush with concrete gutters or aprons. The old way was to feather the asphalt down to l – 2 millimeters in thickness at the gutter line. This produced a very thin and brittle edge that did not hold up well. Chamberlain has been a leader in this technology for many years.

We also have a 78” cut milling machine capable of cutting from 1” – 6” in depth in a single pass. For large asphalt patching projects it makes the process go twice as fast as digging the patches out with a backhoe. This means that your parking lot is tied up for much less time.

We can also use this machine to perform partial depth asphalt patches or to mill the top 1” or 2” of an entire parking lot. This is especially important where drainage concerns are high or where a structurally sound pavement is uneven and simply needs evening up before repaving.

Milling machines can also be used to cut drainage swales in existing pavement to correct drainage problems.
